The Secret

Reading time – 33 seconds  .  .  .

Announcing my new book and leadership workshop series:

The 7 Secrets to the 5 Most Powerful Actions That Will Unlock the 9 Proven Rules for the 3 Key Successes That Drive The 11 Critical Leadership Skills You Must  Master If You Are To Be Rewarded With The 7 Primary Determinants Of A Fulfilled Life

No, I don’t have a new book of that title, but I’ll bet that you get those emails, snail mails and pop-ups, too, right? It seems that everyone is hawking their multi-step, heretofore unrevealed solution and all you have to do is follow their program. Oh, and buy it, too. And somehow it’s always a secret and that secret will be revealed – for just 3 installments of $19.95 for the streaming video or $995 for the weekend workshop retreat. Or you can buy the book for $29 and subscribe separately for the online tutorial for yet more money.

But really, is it a secret? Has someone intentionally been withholding critical information from you? Do you actually have to join a secret society, learn the password and get the secret decoder ring? The answer is no, because there are no secrets.

This is a real book

In fact, if you want to be a great leader, try rereading ‘All I Really Needed To Know I Learned in Kindergarten.” No, I don’t have a connection to that wildly successful book. The point, though (okay, the secret if you desperately need there to be one) is that leadership is about human relationships and how we treat one another and whether we bring our presence with us in our engagements with others.

Dig the book off the back of the bottom shelf of your bookcase and read it again. It will make you a better leader.
